Findwise Terms Of Service
Last updated October 3, 2026 · Version terms-2026-10-03-v0.5
These terms are the agreement between you and Findwise LLC ("Findwise," "we," "us") for using getfindwise.com, its scans, and its reports (the "Services"). By submitting a store for a scan, opening a report, or paying for one, you agree to them. If you use Findwise for a company, you agree for that company. We have kept them short and plain.
1. What Findwise does
Findwise reads a limited number of a store's public web pages and reports how well they answer the questions shoppers and AI shopping assistants ask: can a buyer find, understand, trust and compare its products. A report contains scores, findings and suggested fixes. A paid report also shows the evidence behind each finding: where a finding rests on pages, the pages where it was seen and, where we can say it plainly, what was found there; where it rests on the store's robots.txt or sitemap, it says so; and where no page was kept, it says that too.
Reports are produced by automated checks. An optional AI step tags what kind of site was scanned and what it sells; it does not write any of the report. A person does not necessarily review a report before you see it. Scores and coverage are estimates from the pages we could read, not measurements of any AI assistant, search engine or marketplace. Findwise has not tested how any particular AI assistant treats your store.
2. Scanning a store
- You may submit any public online store, including one you do not own. Only submit public addresses, and do not use Findwise to harass, deceive, or harm anyone.
- Our crawler identifies itself, follows robots.txt, reads only public pages, and never logs in, adds to cart, checks out, or gets around a block. Exactly what it does is published at getfindwise.com/bot.
- We may decline, limit, or stop a scan, for example to prevent abuse or because a site asks us not to scan it.
- A scan is a snapshot of the pages we could read at that moment. Pages that are blocked, slow, built in the browser, or changed later may be missing or out of date, and the report says so where it can.
3. If your store was scanned by someone else
A scan does not mean you asked for it, agreed with it, or are connected with Findwise. You do not have to accept these terms because your public site was scanned. To ask us to limit or stop scanning your site, correct or remove a report, or not contact you, write to legal@getfindwise.com. We may ask you to show that you speak for the site.
4. Reports and how you may use them
- A free report shows some of what a scan found. A paid report also shows the findings the free report holds back, with the evidence behind each finding. It may leave some findings out, for example ones we are not confident in, ones folded into a related finding, or ones we have found to be wrong.
- You may use a report inside your business and share it with the people helping you act on it, such as staff, contractors and agencies.
- Do not resell reports, publish them as if they were your own audit, or use Findwise to build a competing product.
- If you share a report about someone else's store, keep its context and "Estimated" labels, and do not use it to mislead or threaten anyone.
- Findings can be wrong in either direction. Check a finding before you rely on it, publish it, or change your site because of it.
5. Paying
- Prices are shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe.
- Your first full report opens as soon as your payment is confirmed, from the scan you already ran. Unless that scan was already a deep one, we then run a deeper scan of your store, and when it finishes, its report replaces the first on the same page. If the deeper scan cannot finish, the report from your first scan is your full report.
- A paid rescan of your store may take some time to prepare after payment. Your report page shows its status until the new report is ready.
- If a paid scan fails for a reason that may clear, we try again for a short time. If your store blocks or refuses our crawler, we do not try again.
- Findwise reports are delivered online: nothing ships, and there are no returns or exchanges.
- Delivered reports are final; refunds remain available for duplicate charges, legal requirements, or non-delivery.
- You are responsible for any taxes on your purchase.
6. Not professional advice, and no guaranteed results
Findwise reports are business information. They are not legal, financial, accessibility, security or other professional advice. We do not promise that following a report will increase traffic, sales, rankings, or how often any AI assistant mentions or recommends your products.
7. Acceptable use
Do not:
- Break the law or anyone's rights using Findwise.
- Attack, overload, probe or scrape the Services, or get around their limits.
- Submit passwords, secrets, payment card numbers or other sensitive information.
- Use Findwise for spam, harassment, surveillance, or threats against a business.
We may limit or suspend access if these terms are broken or if continuing would create legal, security or abuse risk.
8. Ownership
You keep what you send us. You let us use it to provide and improve the Services. We own Findwise, its software, checks, scoring and report format. A report may show content from a public website; that content still belongs to its owner.
9. Privacy
How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy at getfindwise.com/privacy.
10. Liability
The Services are provided "as is." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond what these terms say, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for all claims together is limited to the greater of what you paid Findwise for the Services the claims relate to in the 12 months before the event that caused them, or $100. If you use Findwise in a way these terms do not allow, you are responsible for claims that result from that use.
11. Disputes
Oregon law governs these terms. If there is a disagreement, write to us first and we will try to sort it out within 30 days. If we cannot, any court case will be in the state or federal courts in Oregon.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date and version above, and the new terms apply from then on. If you keep using Findwise after a change, you accept the updated terms.
